Student Exchange Program is one of the main programs of the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF).It is the mobility program that gives Pharmacy students from all over the World the opportunity to know Pharmacy in other country.
In Rwanda, the program started from 2011 and it attracted more than 20 International Students coming from different corners of the World namely USA, England, Turkey, Czech Republic and Spain amongst others. The areas of practice are mainly Community, Clinical and Hospital Pharmacy where by our major partners are King Faisal Hospital and Rwanda Military Hospital.
Apart from doing professional internship, international participants get to know Rwandan culture and socialize in their respective host families and they visit different touristic areas, the likes of Volcano, Akagera and Nyungwe National Parks. Interestingly we organize social events and SEP Dinners as a network platform between international students and RPSA members.
Rwanda Pharmaceutical Students Association as a full member of IPSF has the privilege to send students abroad through SEP. so far we have more than 30 RPSA members that have gone through this program. And it is obvious that the experience they gain from SEP is a key pillar in the development of the Association and the profession at large.
We are looking for more and more Pharmacy Students coming to learn from pharmacy practice in our country and learn from our unique history and culture
